Important Freight Delivery & Inspection Instructions

PLEASE INSPECT YOUR SHIPMENT BEFORE SIGNING FOR DELIVERY.

Duo-Safety fire service ladders are shipped via freight carrier due to their size and dimensions. Although every effort is made to ensure safe transportation, damage may occur during transit.

To help protect your department and facilitate any necessary freight claims, please follow these procedures upon delivery:

  1. Inspect Before Signing: Examine the shipment, including the packaging and all accessible sides of the ladders, before signing the carrier's delivery receipt. Where permitted, open packaging to inspect for concealed damage.
  2. Document Any Damage: If damage is discovered, clearly note the damage on the driver's delivery receipt or electronic delivery record. Take photographs of the packaging, affected areas, and shipping labels.
  3. Do Not Sign as Undamaged: Never sign a clean delivery receipt if visible damage is present. If the driver refuses to allow reasonable inspection, document the refusal and contact Northside Trucking immediately for assistance.
  4. Accept Undamaged Items When Possible: If only part of the shipment is damaged, accept the undamaged items when practical and clearly document any damaged items or refused packages.
  5. Notify Northside Trucking: Contact us as soon as possible if damage is discovered, preferably while the driver is still present. Retain all packaging and delivery documentation until the issue is resolved.

Important: Signing a delivery receipt without documenting visible damage may make a freight claim more difficult to resolve. Freight damage claims are subject to the carrier's applicable terms and claims procedures.
